Great Australian Platypus Search
The Great Australian Platypus Search is on!
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to be a part of one of the largest citizen science projects in the world. Environment Education Victoria is working with Odonata to support schools to get involved.
Help your students learn about their local environment and participate in the biggest Citizen Science project in Australia. Students will help scientists by collecting environmental DNA samples from their local waterways. This data will be used to map the distribution of platypuses, fish and other aquatic vertebrates throughout Victoria’s waterways and will have the potential to inform policy, research and management. The ultimate aim being to reverse the Threatened Species status of the platypus.
