Get involved and make a difference - to Your school and the world!

As a proud ResourceSmart School - we are part of an award-winning Victorian Government to embed sustainability in everything we do.  The ResourceSmart Schools program helps us to use energy and water efficiently, save money and integrate sustainability into the curriculum.

Since 2008, over 1,400 schools have participated, and together we’ve:

  • saved more than $38 million on bills

  • planted 5,269,342 trees

  • saved more than 110,000 tonnes CO2e greenhouse gas emissions

  • diverted 177,000 cubic metres of waste from landfill

  • saved 1,798,539 kilolitres of water.

We value parent and carer help, and we would love your support!

We are looking for parent volunteers to help with recording information during the Biodiversity Audit of the school grounds, and entering data into an online system (can be done at home).

This volunteer role would suit people who are interested in nature, enjoy being outdoors, can record and organise basic information, and can enter it into an online program.

You will need

  • basic computer skills,

  • be able to walk around the school grounds for approx 1 hour (once per year)

  • To meet the requirements for volunteering at school

Training will be provided

Workshop One (online) Tues 20 August 9:15am-10am

  • This workshop will explain the online system and how to enter data

Workshop Two (in person at Ardeer South Primary School) Tues 3 Sept 9-10am

  • This workshop will explain the Biodiversity Audit and the data that needs to be collected.

This is a great opportunity to support your school.  If you’d like to find out more, please contact your school or email EEV.
